The Kyandra Saga
Book I

I struggle, I pen, I type. Words beneath and over the top that squeak on by only to get redone; before the ink is dry or the font appears the words disappear - I wonder - I question - I imagine and then the process Stops. Starts - I pick up pen - I do it all over again. A random act. An illicit fact. Rules don't apply and then. Words fly. Pass me by... discouraged...I'm lost in doubt...How do I bring it all together ...how do I figure it out? Are words captured or caught? I wonder if what I 'see' is sought...but I keep on with a tale to tell. As I look deep in the well I can feel the flow but, sometimes it's slow. And, so I push through and sometimes cry in frustration, and sometimes I cry - I just do. Words don't look like they used to. Words don't make up a scene like they're supposed to. The plots all wrong, the character's not strong, the chapters too long and I struggle on. But, I've learned to fight for my 'write.' And at the end. when the Protagonist gets in the groove and the Antagonist must choose...because of its all about choices and strategic moves. I decide I can't lose and the pen gets hot...and I find my wind...and I realize that my purpose -
writing is like a God send.

Prince "A Tribrute - A Lament"

No one takes death for granted...
we know it will come.
Whether it sneaks like a thief in the night or
gently sweeps you off your feet
peaceful and quiet or short and sweet.
Death comes but, how one lives life is
how death shall be celebrated
by those left behind...
left to mourn.
left to fight through your coming
to allow...what remains in this world
to stake claim; reminded of the impact
that such a life created a ripple that affected the world.

Death you are not taken for granted.
We know you will come.
Whether you sneak like a thief in the night
or take away like a torrent rain
you leave the heart pounding
like thunder from a storm.
Death no matter how you come
you leave people behind
who mourn..

Yet I want to celebrate a life you took...
God has his sight on this soul I'm sure
the impact of his talent firmly implanted
onto a world impacted
His gift firmly sown.
we will never forget his name –
He is an artist formally known.
As weird...I mean different..eccentric even...and it took a minute
to 'get' his uniqueness until you got a peek at his God given ability.
His beauty.
Voice pure; full of shyness and humility - timid and meek
but his music
His music was powerful...
like a superhero.

Power to wail and belt out song
Power to prevail
to breach past barriers that laid bare the soul.
through instrumental collages we realized
this man born like royalty was no joke...
he shattered dichotomies and raised a few eyebrows too..
rich and poor, black and white, rock and roll, recognized
His difference was real...
and as confusing as he was, he held a profound
awareness of what this world would need.
he foresaw ten years before his time
that we held the capacity to
Party like it was 1999.
his Sex electrified – his vibe was – sound.

it was then that I learned he does not cry - Doves do.
It was then that I learned I would die for you...
It was then that I learned I hate you
it was then that I learned I was an Irresistible Bitch
It was then that I learned the color of rain is purple, not blue
it was then that I learned I Feel for you
It was then that I learned there were Thieves in the Temple

Which brings me back to what 'Death' stole.
What Death took.
Although it's often as I reflect
the genuine loss leaves me shook
and sometimes without notice.
that such loss leaves me clinging to my chest,
and I hold my breath just to breathe...
because I learned albums matter.
I learned by acknowledging his existence;
it's his legacy of music that lives
I learned that people have gleaned a certain satisfaction from his
reaction as an artist formerly known as Prince.
His lyrics dissected dichotomies; erotic and explicit..he 'made us listen'.
It's really too soon to give Epitaphs of his feats that is just how I feel,
And I suddenly realize
when I don't think in purple...I'm suddenly blue...
as I think of the people who absolutely adored you.
What did I learn? There will never be another like Prince.

How I Found Out That A Writer Has A Fear of the Rain and the Rain didn't Care

Has anyone ever experienced – Euphoria? Only to realize it last for about one day and then 'reality' plunges you into the biggest let down you ever had to face?
Let me give a better example of this feeling. Have you ever taken a walk on a beautiful day with only a few clouds overhead, and you say to yourself.
"I'm only going for a short walk – it won't rain."
So you gather up your high energy and venture outdoors and find yourself around the corner past the park and down the street let's say – one mile, and you feel something wet strike the back of your neck. Your feeling of absolute peace in walking has turned into a frantic dash to get back home. Unfortunately, that one droplet didn't just stop there.  No. It gained power from the forces above and turned into a thousand times its potential and your perfect walk becomes ruined; you become driven by only one need – to gain the offer of safety from the outside and the pouring rain.
Something unexpected has happened and your moment of 'me-time' has disappeared and in its wake – Desperation.
You become drenched through and through from rain you thought you could outrun.
Well, this analogy seems sort of like what I feel like as a writer after releasing a novel to the public.
( I wrote the story I'm proud to release and announce "It's finished and on to the next," finally, and I ran out into the world to show off that I finished it but, I didn't get the reception of the sun -I sort of got rained on.)
And, I'm drenched in disappointment because I realized why I wrote the book in the first place. And it wasn't so I could outrun the rain – I like when it pours too.
I just want to be prepared that's all. And I really didn't have everything I needed to Release such great books as planned. That's were marketing agents and publicist, and 'Hype' come into play: But there's only me I'm what you call an "Indie Writer,"
I can't expect 100 people to purchase my novel on the fact that they know me as a person.
Next time, because I have so many wonderful stories to share; I'll be ready to accept the rain too. I promise.
Things I learned -

·       Just because you accomplish something doesn't mean you can sit on that accomplishment and expect it to sustain your dream. - It won't
·       People are more likely to support someone they've never met  OR heard of than to support someone they know by an acquaintance, friendship or blood.  The odds are likely around 50 percent to believe it or not.
·       Once you made it (which is only in your mind), you have to explain continuously that if you don't keep 'making it' you'll never 'make it.'
·       Why does advertising on Facebook seem like you're 'begging' for support? There has to be a better way?
·       Marketing is 75 percent of a writer's dilemma- You write the book, You invest in its interior and exterior you leave the blood, sweat and tears ingrained into each word written and every page turned...and you can't even get someone to pick it up
·       This is not what I learned but, a did you know... (It's free to read the first chapter available on my Amazon page www.amazon.com/author/desire4fire)
·       You realize why you write.  If it's for Ego, you will get burned. If it's to entertain people - you will get burned if it's because you were born to write - you will become 100 percent flammable proof.
·       I guess numbers do matter. If you write a book to publish - you really do desire fans...readers and haters who will somehow find that they are advertising on your behalf for free.
·       Don't be fearful of the numbers. Books are hard to sell because the world has changed but, people do look for good quality stories; they just aren't aware that your book is one of them.
·       So I have to be more marketable and believe in my talent and my product.
·       It won't rain always. The sun will shine.
·       The views and opinions expressed in this Blog are solely for the purpose so that I the author of an excellent novel will feel better.
·       What I can count on. I will write more novels – I am not afraid to ask for support but, I am also accepting responsibility as a writer to entertain and for my readers to feel their investment was worth it. This is my dream but, it's also my reality.  Read my novels and tell me personally  – You had a good read.

·       Thank you – Desire4Fire.

Reflections Through eyes that dream.
Looking behind won’t buy me time;
won’t buy me what I left behind…
what I wish to be pushed into my path…
not if I look back instead,
I must look ahead…and leave what is past –
passed
done – forgotten – dead;
Death
sought/found a few.
Left in its wake realities cruel
life shattered dreams shred in the aftermath of such dread.
Love has not faltered nor failed…even when dreams were drowned derailed.
Hope lingers …
grasp..grope with fingers that seek tomorrow
leave fear..depart from sorrow
In a wake filled lake of tears…fight through
Look straight ahead…
In faith instills courage
strength unfailing shifts to
Life
It goes on as momentum gains as it propels one through
Straightforward…eyes to the skies…
Team up with hope, trust, courage, strength and love
The new year cometh
Whether the path left behind was covered in pain
Strain to reach the summit...reach above.
Seek the path
Look up…fill a once empty cup…
Acknowledge bright stars and sunshine filled days
Dream and then wake and watch visions take shape to form new beginnings
Encourage more glorious endings…
which is all the heart hopes for?
Don’t restrain hoping to deserve… push past limitations held restrained…reserved.
Set your curve higher…
Battle longer… stronger…
Even battles can be hard fought won…through tribulations war rages, but
wage everything on victory’s path
It’s said and done…
Someday
I will reflect…on this power written in pen.. words reflection that digs within
And stimulate action, desire and need
and realize this dreamer’s vision.
This day
I will raise eyes to the one most high
And leave it to his ever caring hands…
My dreams, my vision, my hard imagined reality
This day.
Cash in – stake a claim – redeem
without giving up or giving in
destiny’s purpose rules
Foreseen.
